Tourism in Bucine

The Medieval village of Bucine

Inside the characteristic Medieval village of Bucine it is possible to reach a very interesting religious building: the Saints Apollinare and John Baptist Church, whose inside it is possible to admire a fine painting, coming from some Florentine worshop and dating back to the XVII-th century.

It is placed close to the main altar and portrays a "Our Lady with the Child".

Close to the historic centre of Bucine there the Parish of Petrolo and the Saint Peter Abbey in Ruoti: the first one building saves a baptismal font and a tabernacle, both of them are glazed earthenawares, made by Giovanni della Robbia (1469-1529); the second one saves a wonderful plate painted by Neri di Bicci (1419-1491), portraying a "Our Lady's Crowning".

Very interesting is also the visit to the Castle of Cennina, built in the XII-th century and belonged to the Tarlati family.

From the Castle of Cennina it is possible to enjoy a wonderful sight on the whole valley.
