Tourism in Fauglia

The Medieval village of Fauglia

The village of Fauglia still saves today the characteristic feautures of its original buildng, although in the middle of the XIX-th century it subdued a violent earthquake that caused severe damages.

In that occasion numerous buildings had to be restored: the Saint Lorenz Church and the Saint Lucy Church, both of Medieval origin, were rebuilt in their actual aspect.

The Saint Lucy Church still saves today some elements of its original building, like the finely painted apse and the policrome wooden main altar, dating back to the XVIII-th century.

Interesting to visit is also the Theatre: it was built around the middle of the XIX-th century on the place where once some galleries rose, under which the popular market once took place.
