The Medieval village of Ponte Buggianese

Inside the village of Ponte Buggianese it is possible to admire numerous fine buildings dating back to the period of the foundation of the village like the ancient Saint Joseph Oratory, built at the beginning of the XVI-th century and today named "Saint Mary of the Good Advice Sanctuary".

The actual building is the result of a widening executed along the XVII-th century, so the sanctuary is now preceded by a fine porch.

The interior, with three aisles, saves a fine cycle of frescoes portraying some Biblical scenes painted by Pietro Annigoni during the restoration works executed at the end of the XX-th century.

Close to the building is also a little museum that saves holy ornaments and hangings dating back to the XVII-th and XVIII-th century, and a precious relic, the "Holy Thorn", coming from the crown of thorns of Jesus Christ.
