The Castle of Uzzano in Greve in Chianti

The Castle of Uzzano is well known because there the famous humanist Niccolò da Uzzano (1359-1431) was born.

For many centuries the castle belonged to the Uzzano's family.

The Castle was built according to a rectangular plant and of its original building it saves still today the high walls that surround it.

Today the Castle hosts a rural-villa, particularly suggestive for the typical Medieval features blended to the rural elements, whose inside it is possible to amdire a large and rich Italian garden.

The land surrounding the area where the castle rises once was used to cultivate the vineyards that produced a very valuable wine.

Even today the vine tradition is carried out by the rural farm holding its wine activity inside the Castle of Uzzano.

The rural-villa of Uzzano produces a Classical Chianti Wine and other valuable wines.
