The Museum of Archaeological finds and Potteries in Montelupo Fiorentino

The Museum of Archaeological finds and Potteries is located in the Podestà's Palace, being this latter decorated with noble ensings and preceded by a fine porch.

It is possible to visit the exhibit on the three floors of the Palace. It is divided into two sections: the "Archaeological Section of the Territory" that collects numerous finds came to light in the areas of the Valdarno and Valdipesa, and the "Section of Potteries" that exposes a collection of original ceramics dating back to different Ages and coming from different areas, among them it is possible to admire some Etruscan vases and Greek potteries, as well as numerous majolicas dating back to the XIV-XVIIIth century.

Inside a room of the museum there is a workroom where it is possible to admire the ancient tecniques once used to manufacture and produce potteries and also a furnace saving its original aspect.

Inside the museum it is also possible to admire a collection of remains of frescoes dating back to the XIV-th and XVII-th centuries and a fine painted tabernacle dating back to the XV-th, portraying a "Crucifixion".
