The Medieval village of Campagnatico The village of Campagnatico is surrounded still today by its ancient walls, saving this latter the characteristic features of its original building. Along the ring of walls it is possible to see one of the three gates once giving access to the town and also the Medieval towers, once used as sighting places. At the entrance of the village rises the Saint Mary Church, built on a pre-existing religious building. The frescoes inside the church were restored and moved to the Saint John Baptist Church, among them we remind here those ones painted by Cristoforo di Bindoccio and Meo di Pero portraying "Episodes of Our Lady's life".

Of the ancient Aldobrandeschi's Castle just a tower remains today, from which it is possible to enjoy a wonderful sight on the valley of the Ombrone river. In the highest part of the village rises the Saint John Baptist Church, built during the XIII-th century. The simply features of its facade show the typical Romanic style of the period during which it was built. The interior has just an aisle with a wooden ceiling covered by trusses in Romanic and Gothic styles. The most oldest religious building is the Saint Anthony Abbot Church, built during the Early Middle Ages, opening on the main square of the town. The church saves numerous fourteenth-century frescoes painted by artists from Siena.
