The Medieval village of Careggine

Once entered the very heart of the historic centre of Careggine it is possible to reach the most anciente religious building of the town that is the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, whose building goes back to the Longbard domination occurred between the VII-th and the VIII-th century.

Interesting is also the Saint Anthony Church, whose building goes back to the X-th century.

Inside the religious building it is possible to admire a fine statue dating back to the XVI-th century and portraying "Saint Anthony", attributed to Vincenzo Civitali, and some stone-made altars.

Thanks to its geographical position, from the village of Careggine it is possible to enjoy a wonderful sight of several mounts covered by a rich and thick wood vegetation.

During the winter season the locality becomes an appreciated ski resort, also thanks to the presence of some ski-lift systems.
