The Medieval village of Minucciano

The village of Minacciano is a suggestive place, characterized by some different natural landscapes like pasture, cultivated lands and a rich wood vegetation.

Minucciano saves still today the remains of its ancient Medieval fortifications, visible in the highest part of the village, where the historic centre rises around a fortress. This latter shows a good state of preservation and saves its original aspect also thanks to numerous restoration works.

Interesting to visit is also the Saint Lorenz Parish, that is one of the oldest religious buildings of the town and whose existence is testified by some official documents dating back to the middle of the XII-th century. The interior of the parish has three aisles surmounted by round arches, held this latter by columns equipped with decorated capitals and it saves a copy of the "Holy Face", saved in Lucca.
