The Medieval village of Porcari The village of Porcari develops around the Saint Giusto Church, whose building goes back to the XV-th century. Along the centuries the Saint Giusto Church was restored and modified and in 1745 its facade was rebuilt by using white marble in its actual features as today it is possible to admire. Of the Medieval fortifications of Porcari, among them also the ancient castle, just few traces of its ring of walls remain today.
Photo Wikipedia In the heart of the historic centre of Porcari it is also possible to visit the Saint Mary Church, whose building goes back to the Middle Ages. Inside the church it is possible to admire a fine painting painted in the XVI-th century, portraying a "Crowing Our Lady and Saints". Close to the village of Porcari there is the Archaeological Area named "Black Ditch" that saves some remains of a village dating back to the Bronze Age and also some remains of Roman and Etruscan houses.
