The Medieval village of Mulazzo Once entered in Mulazzo it is possible to reach the historic centre by passing under one of the two big archs, on which once there were the two gates that gave access to the town. The village of Mulazzo shows the typical features of its original building: both in its stone-made paths and in its characteristic rural house, being this latter stone made too. Interesting to visit is the place on which once rose the Malaspina's Castle, of which it is still possible to see just few remains.
Photo Wikipedia The "Dante's Tower", so called because hosted Dante Alighieri during its stay in Mulazzo, is a part of the castle. Nearby the Castle it is also possible to see the ancient archs that once formed the urban aqueduct, whose building goes back to the XV-th century. The locality rises in the green belt of a rich Mediterranean vegetation, surrounded by hills covered by thick woods. It is the ideal place where to spend outdoor relaxing moments or to practise sports.
