The Medieval village of Ponsacco

The village of Ponsacco rises inside the remains of its ancient ring of walls.

During the Middle Ages the village was surrounded by a high rectangular ring of walls, of which today it is still possible to see some Medieval towers.

Nearby Ponsacco it is possible to reach the Villa of Camugliano, that was erected for the will of Cosimo of Medici in 1533.

Ponsacco

The building was restored in the Baroque Age and today it still shows its four side towers.

Very interesting is also the "Saint John Evangelist Parish", that is an eighteenth-century building in Neoclassical features.
