The Abbey of Morrona in Terricciola

The Abbey of Morrona was built at the end of the XI-th century in the homonymous locality of Morrona, being this latter a part of the common of Terricciola, for the will of the Count Ugo della Gherardesca.

The convent is entitled to Saint Mary and Saint Benedetto and it represents one of the most important convents of the territory, thanks to the richness reached by the Benedictine monks along the centuries.
