Tourism in Agliana

The Medieval village of Agliana

The town of Agliana shows intact its medieval centre that developed inside the thirteenth-century ring of walls.

The town is dominated by an imposing "Tower" that was erected by Castruccio Castracani, today surrounded by a thick wood vegetation.

Nearby Agliana it is possible to visit numerous and ancient religious buildings like the ancient "Saint Michael Church", that was restored in theXVIII-th century in Neoclassical style.

Close to the Saint Michael Church rises the "Oratory of the Company", that shows a big and suggestive crux on its facade.

Very interesting is also the "Saint Pierre Church", restored in 1872 on a design of the architect Bernardo Bernadino.
