The Saint Stephen Parish in Lamporecchio

In the first decade of the XX-th century the Saint Stephen Church was built in New Renaissance style on a pre-existing religious building by the architect Bernardo Bernardini.

Of its original building the parish still saves today a embattled belfry rising by the right side of the religious building and inside, some stone-made altars, on one of them there is a wooden Crucifix dating back to the XVII-th century, and the niche of the baptismal font.

The interior of the parish has three aisles and it is rich of fine art works like a glazed earthen-made shovel by Giovanni della Robbia (1469-1529) and of valuable paintings portraying Biblical pictures like the "Holy Spirit's Dove", the "Annunciation" and the "Redeemer between two Adoring Angels".

Inside the sacristy it is also possible to admire a stone-made washbasin with a triangular facade dating back to the XVI-th century.
