The Medieval village of Monteroni d'Arbia

The territory of Monteroni d'Arbia is rich of wonderful Medieval buildings, all artistically and culturally valuable: among them the so called "Grancia", that is a thirteenth-century fortified building used as a farm, and the "Molino", dating back to the XIV-th century and saving the characteristic features of its travertine-made original building.

The Medieval village of Monteroni d'Arbia is surrounded by its ancient ring of fortified walls, equipped with sighting towers, whose inside the historic centre of the town develops and gathers around a main square, of triangular shape.

Among the most important religious buildings, the Parish of Corsano stood out, being this latter built during the XI-th century and entitled to Saint John Baptist. The building is a typical example of religious building in Romanic style, equipped with a facade showing two orders of blind arches overlapped and rich of hanging decorations.
