The "Palazzone" (Big Palace) of Murlo

The "Palazzone" was built during the Middle Ages and then it was restored along the XVII-th and XVIII-th centuries.

The "Palazzone" hosts today the "Etruscan Antiquarium Museum of Poggio Civitate", where it is possible to admire the archaeological material that was found in the territory and the finds coming from the close Etruscan place of Poggio Civitate.

The Museum occupies both the two floor of the palace: on the first floor it is possible to admire all finds coming from Poggio Civitate, on the mezzanine it is possible to see the way of the artisan manufacture of the gold, bronze, bone and ivory and on the second floor it is possible to admire the decorations of the roofs.

The Museum is placed in Piazza della Cattedrale (Cathedral's Square) and it is open from Tuesday to Saturday in the morning, from 10 am to 1 pm, and from 3 pm to 5 pm in the afternoon.
