The Medieval village of Radda in Chianti

The village of Radda in Chianti saves still today its ancient urban structure showing a typical Medieval aspect according to an elongated elliptical shape, in whose middle rises the Podestà's Palace.

There are numerous examples of fortified buildings, of which are visible still today some residential houses and towers dating back to the Middle Ages.

Among the most ancient and suggestive religious buildings of the territory, the Saint Giusto in Salcio Parish and the Saint Polo in Rocco Parish are particularly interesting.

Both the religious buildings show a fortified structure equipped inside with high towers of circular shape.

The Saint Polo in Rocco Parish also shows typical Gothic and Roman features and inside it saves fine art works like some frescoes and a wooden Crucifix, both of them dating back to the XIV-th century, and numerous liturgical ornaments.
