The "Water Museum" in Capolona

The village of Capolona saves still today both some suggestive building, built during the Middle Ages, testifying its secular history and some building testifying the importance of the water resources for the community of Capolona since ancient times.

Particularly interesting is to visit the "Water Museum" that illustrates the history of the use of the water system of the area from ancient times to nowadays.

It was opened in 2001 and it is located inside the hydro-electric station named "The Nussa". This latter was built during the XX-th century on the place of an ancient mill.

The Museum is divided into several different sections dedicated to the didactic illustration and to the exposition of machines and tools used to pick the waters up and direct into the water systems.
