Tourism in Marradi

The Medieval village of Marradi

The so called "Piazza delle Scalelle" represents the heart of the village of Marradi. On this square very artistic fascinating noble buildings face, like the Classic Municipal Palace, the Palace of the Romagnolo Bank and the seventeenth-century Fabbroni Palace, showing this latter on its facade the ensign of the homonymous family.

On the "Piazza delle Scalelle" it is also possible to admire the Cannone Palace and the Suffrage Church, this latter is characterized by a simple facade.

The Saint Lorenz Church is one of the oldest building in Marradi. It was built during the Roman Age and restored in its actual form at the end of the XVIII-th century.

The interiors of the Saint Lorenz Church are made precious by fine art works like three sixteenth-century plates coming from Florentine school, portraying an "Our Lady with the Child", "Saint Lorenz" and "Saint John Evangelist".

Very interesting is also the Animosi's Theatre, whose building goes back to 1792 on a design by the architect Giulio Mannaioni.

Inside the Animosi's Theatre it is possible to admire three finely decorated ranks of stages and the noble ensign of the local Animosi's family, portraying a flying hot-air balloon.
