The Medieval village of Montespertoli The village of Montespertoli rises within its ancient ring of walls, spaced out by houses showing their typical Medieval features. Of its original Medieval village it is still possible to see also the gate that once gave access to the town, still surmounted by a round arch, and also a square tower. The urban structure shows the features of its original building, that are typical of all the fortified village placed in the Chianti region: in the middle of the village there is a square, of irregular shape, on which the main buildings open.
Very interesting is the sixteenth-century Saint Andrew Church, restored at the beginning of the XX-th century, whose inside it is possible to admire numerous and fine art works coming from the religious buildings that once were placed in its surroundings: a thrypthyc portraying an "Our Lady on the Throne and four Saints" dating back to the XIV-th century, a baptismal font dating back to the XII-th century, finely decorated with green marble-made inlayes, and a wooden Crucifix, to which, according to the tradition, Saint Verdiana prayed.
