The Saint Peter Parish in Reggello

The Romanic Parish, entitled to Saint Peter, was probably built at the end of the XII-th century. It is preceded by a fine porch bore by columns.

The interior of the parish has three aisles. The capitals, decorated by floral patterns, are very fine.

At the bottom of the right aisle it is possible to admire a plate coming from the workshop of Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494) portraying the "Our Lady with the Child and Saints".

Along the left wall it is also possible to see some traces of a fresco painted by Mariotto di Cristofano (1393-1457) portraying the "Annunciation".

At the bottom of the left aisle is placed a triptych painted in 1422 and portraying the "Our Lady on the Throne with the Child and Angels, among the Saints Anthony Abbot, Bartolomeo, Biagio and Giovenale", that is the first art work painted by Masaccio (1401-1428).
