The Medieval village of Manciano The Fortress rising on the village of Manciano is a Medieval fortification opening on the main square of the town. The building is a wonderful fourteenth-century castle that, thanks to the numerous restorations made during the centuries, still today shows a good preservation state. Today as in ancient times the Fortress is the seat of the Municipal offices. Once the so called "Fiorella Gate" gave the access to the town by the northern side and it is what today remains of the ancient Medieval fortifications. On its portal it is still possible to admire an arch surmounted by a lion that is the ensign of the city of Siena. Among the most interesting religious buildings there is the Saint Leonard Church, built in the first half of the XIV-th century in Gothic style and with just an aisle. At the end of the XVIII-th century two side aisles and a belfry were added to the religious building. The interior of the Saint Leonard Church is rich of fine art works like a painting portraying "Saint Leonard" painted by Paride Pascucci (1866-1954).
