The Saint John Baptist Church in Scansano

The Saint John Baptist Church was built on the remains of a fourteenth-century oratory and during XVIII-th century it was restored many times.

At the entrance on the church it is possible to admire a fine fifteenth-century stone-made portal.

The Saint John Baptist Church saves several seventeenth-century paintings placed on the altars coming from the school of Siena, as "Our Lady with the Child and Saint Anna", "Our Lady of the Aid" and the "Saint Sebastiano’s martyrdom" painted by Stefano Volpi.

Inside the church there is a chapel called Chapel of the Rosary, whose inside it is placed a fine painting portraying "Our Lady with the Child and some Saints".

Remarkable is also a wood polychrome made statue built in XV century, portraying "Our Lady".
