The Our Lady of the Graces Sanctuary in Capoliveri The Our Lady of the Graces Sanctuary was built around XVI-th century on a pre-existing building and then it was restored outside and decorated inside by Egidio Scotto. The road leading from the town to the Sanctuary was built in 1792, as a sign of gratitude to the inhabitants by some French monks who escaped to Capoliveri and was welcomed.

The painting portrays Saint John in the act of bringing the finger of his left hand near his mouth to indicate to make silence in order to not awake Jesus Child and from here the work name of Madonna del Silenzio (Our Lady of the Silence). Inside the Sanctuary is also possible to admire a stone-made altar dating back to the Middle Ages and probably belonging to the ancient building where later it was built the present Our Lady of the Graces Sanctuary.
