The Medieval village of Fosciandora

The village of Fosciandora is rich of remains of ancient fortifications and Medieval defensive buildings that testify the numerous historic events occurred to Fosciandora. Among them distinguish the ring of walls of the close locality of Lupinaia and the Fortress of Ceserana, that one facing each other.

Along the walls of Lupinaia it is also possible to see the loopholes that once were used to shoot and two very ancient fortresses. The fortified building complex, as well as the Fortress of Ceserana, was recently restored in order to bring back to its original aspect.

Within the walls rises the Saint Andrew Church, equipped with a bell tower obtained from an ancient defensive tower.

From the village of Fosciandora it is also possible to enjoy a wonderful sight on the valley below that, sloping to the downhill, is covered by rural houses, terraced lands and vineyards.
