The Saint Michael in Foro Church in Lucca

The Saint Michael in Foro Church is placed in the middle of the homonymous square.

It was built in the first half of the twelfth century and it shows the fusion of the Pisan and Roman stiles.

The church has a fourteenth-century facade surmounted by slim arches along a side ending with a belfry whose floors are delimited by archlets.

The church has three aisles and inside it is possible to admire a glazed earthenware portraying a Madonna with Child placed in the middle part of the right transept and a wonderful painting picture portraying the Saints Sebastiano, Grolamo, Rocco and Elena.

Along the apse it is possible to see the decorations on the little windows of the crypt and the door that gave access to the transept.

The spire is surmounted by a big marble statue standing beside two angels.
