From the ancient building it preserves the portal and the external hangings of its facade. The interior of the church is rich of paintings and sculptures. By observing the first altar on the left side it is possible to admire a fresco painted by Francesco Conti portraying the Madonna who tries to protect a child.

On the right wall of the presbytery there are a suggestive fresco painted by Alessandro Tiarini (1577-1668) portraying Saint Lorenz’s martyrdom and a sixteenth-century wooden sculpture made by Francesco di Valdambrino (1363-1435) portraying the Dead Christ and Saint Antony Abate. Inside the church there is also the chapel of the Madonna del Soccorso (Our Lady of the Aid), protectress of Montecarlo, where it is placed a fifteenth-century fresco. From the church stands the imposing belfry that can be seen in all surroundings.
