The Medieval village of Crespina

The territory of Crespina is rich of numerous examples of very interesting ancient and modern buildings. Among them the Monument of the Owl distinguishes, placed in the homonymous square.

The bronze-made monuments was built by the sculptor Angelo Biancini, with a large base from which some branches rise. On this latter four owls are perched.

Interesting to visit is also the Saint Michael Church, whose inside it is possible to admire a plate portraying a "Saint Michael Archangel", painted by Bernardo Daddi (XIII - XIV-th century), and a fine painting by Giovanni di Bartolomeo Cristiani portraying an "Our Lady with the Child".

Very artistic valuable are also the numerous villas in Crespina, among them the Belvedere Villa, dating back to the Baroque Age.

In its interior it is possible to visit an elegant oratory built during the XVIII-th century by Mattia Tarocchi and finely decorated by Giovan Battista Tempesti (1729-1804).
