The Medieval village of Santa Luce

The village of Santa Luce shows a typically Medieval aspect. It develops at the slopes of the ancient Romanic Saint Lucy Parish, crossed by a main road along which numerous buildings and private houses rise.

The Saint Lucy Parish is probably the most important building of the village of Santa Luce. The religious building, also called "Saint Angel Parish" or "Santa Luce of the Hills", one was equipped with two aisles divided by columns surmounted by archs and along which it was possible to admire some fine paintings portraying holy subjects.

After a violent earthquake occurred on 1846, the religious building was rebuilt and of its ancient Romanic building today it is still possible to admire a baptismal font showing an optagonal shape, some decorated capitals and a fine earthenware by Della Robbia's workshop.
