The Museum of the Vineyard and the Wine of Carmignano The Museum of the Vineyard and the Wine of Carmignano was founded in 1999 in order to show to the visitors the history of the valuable wine of Carmignano, from the Middle Ages to nowadays. Inside the Museum it is possible to discover the way of producing the wine from the harvest to the bottling in the wineries of Carmignano. Once entered the Museum walking through a corridor, whose walls there is a painting portraying a line of vineyards, a copy painted by Bartolomeo Bimbi (1648-1730).

From where it is possible to enter to the first room of the museum where is the private collection of eigh-hundreds wine bottles of Federigo Melis (1914-1973), who was a Florentine economist interested in wines. Inside another room, that is decorated by prints portraying the most interesting place in Carmignano, it is possible to see all different container used over the time to hold the wine, from the Etruscan crater to the modern flask. Continuing the visit to the museum it is possible to see some photos by the Swiss oenologist Paul Scheuermeier, portraying some peasants in the action of cultivating and picking the grapes up and also their tools used in the XX-th century. In a room it is also possible to see the ancient decree issued in 1716 by the Grand Duke Cosimo III of Medici, whereas in the last room it is possible to watch some slides about the farming life and the wine process producing.
