Tourism in Chiesina Uzzanese

The Medieval village of Chiesina Uzzanese

The town of Chiesina Uzzanese saves inside its modern urban agglomeration the typical marks of its original building.

Very interesting to visit is the Saint Mary of the Snow Church, built during the middle of the XX-th century by the architect Bernardini on the place of an ancient religious building, whose around the village developed along the centuries.

The stone-made facade of the church shows in its highest part a watch placed inside a tympanum. Passing through the main portal it is possible to enter the church, equipped with just an aisle.

From the Saint Mary of the Snow Church it is possible to reach the "Xenodochio", being this latter the ancient "Spedale" used to welcome travellers and pilgrims. Of its original building the "Spedale" saves still today a stone-made altar dating back to the XII-th century.

Close to the heart of the historic centre there are other onteresting buildings like a fine Mill, built during the XVII-th century, and the Saint Joseph Church in the locality of Chiesa Nova, equipped with a valuable bronzy portal.
