The Cathedral of Chiusi The Cathedral was built around VI century in the honor of Saint Secondiano, protector of the town, and it was rebuilt after the damages caused by the struggles between Siena and Florence. On the left side of the building rises the Saint Secondiano’s tower that was built during XII century and transformed in belfry in 1585. The interior of the Cathedral has three aisles divided by nine Roman columns surmounted by round archs. In the main aisle it is possible to admire the decoration painted by Arturo Viligiardi as a false mosaic that extended up to the apse where are placed two chapels, the Chapel of Saint Orsola on the right and the Chapel of Saint Catherine on the left. In the right aisle there is a fine alabaster-made baptismal font surmounted by a statue made by Battista di Niccolò. In the left aisle it is placed the Chapel of the Sacrament, whose inside it is possible to admire a polyptych by Bernardino Fungai portraying the "Adoration of the Child and Saints". Along the wall of the left aisle it is placed a stone-made urn saving the Saint Mustiola’s ashes and on the pillars it is possible to see six Saints’ pictures.
