The Saints Peter and Andrew Church in Trequanda

The Saints Peter and Andrew Church was built during the XIII-th century with a particular stone-made facade resembling a white and black chessboard.

The interior is enriched with fine frescoes painted by different artists like a "Transfiguration" painted by Sodoma and an "Our Lady with the Child and the Saint Magdalene, Bonizella, Saint John Baptist and Bernardino" painted by Bartolomeo da Mirando.

Close to main altar it is possible to admire a triptych painted by Giovanni di Paolo (1403-1483) portraying an "Our Lady with the Child and the Saints Bernardine, Sebastiane and Pope Gregory" and a finely carved and decorated wooden urn dating back to the XVI-th century that saves the relics of the Blessed Bonizella Piccolomini-Cacciaconti (1235-1300).
